Latest News - 30th October 2024
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to hear me play in 2024.
Top on-stage highlights included Celtic Connections with Dariush Kanani, Paris with Tommy Emmanuel, my first ever solo tour of Florida, the return to Italy, the Bectolsheim oasis, guitar workshops in the U.K., USA, and Crete, a full west-coast USA solo tour, first time in Sweden, the Ullapool Guitar Festival, and duo shows with the wild man from Kent, Tim Edey. I also played on a few movie soundtracks, learnt the basics of chess, and how to plumb bathrooms and demolish internal walls without wrecking my fingers.
2025 includes tours in the USA and U.K. with an occasional leap into Europe. The concerts page is updated regularly. I also have a mailing list if you'd like to join (see below). Emails are sent at the roaring pace of about 4-6 a year, so absolutely no worries about getting bombarded with 'Clive' messages!
Finally, I will once again be broadcasting my "Sunday Night Live with Clive"(!) shows online in January, via YouTube.
The dates are 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th January 2025.
It's great fun, a chance to try out new pieces, play requests, and for people to connect together from all over the World.
All YouTube links for the Sunday Night Live sessions have been created (see concerts page). Perhaps you might like to set a 'YT reminder' now for one or more of the shows?
I look forward to playing for you further on down the road.
Safe travels,
Clive

"The Lost City of Dunwich"
*New YouTube video* -
In 2014 the Ullapool Guitar Festival commissioned a classical guitar quartet from me, and since then the piece has made its way to the fretboards of the fantastic Malamatina Quartet. I hope you have a spare 6m30sec to listen to their fantastic interpretation:

"Blue in Green" transcriptionI was honoured to receive a message recently from the top-notch transcriber Eduardo Anderez in Spain. He has notated my version of "Blue in Green" by Bill Evans from a performance I gave at the KulturGut in Bechtolsheim, Germany. Eduardo is kindly offering this transcription to anyone interested. (see pdf download link below). I think he did a great job. He's even managed to accurately notate all my mistakes.

"The Abbot" is now available in digital download format!
"The Abbot" on vinyl?
Wouldn't that be something! I'd love to do it but it's a big task. There would be a limited run of 300 copies only, with a lot of pre-order interest to make it happen. If you're interested in the idea of a triple-vinyl version of "The Abbot" please send me an email HERE.
Thank you!
"SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE!" - online show February 2024.
On Sunday 4th February, I was joined by my duo partner from the "Music of John Renbourn" tour, Dariush Kanani and an old pal of John's, Mike Walker.
We presented an abridged version of the show, from Glasgow, Scotland, after the final live concert of the "Renbourn" tour at Celtic Connections. BRAND NEW DOUBLE-ALBUM RELEASE
Hello! I have a brand new double-album out.
It's called "The Abbot" and it features the music of acoustic guitar legend and founding member of Pentangle, John Renbourn (1944-2015). It's a 27-track recording of about 2hrs in length. The recording includes solo guitar pieces, duos, ensembles, and a band. Two pieces by Renbourn are recorded here for the very first time.
I hope you enjoy the album.

Clive's Coastal Walk of Great Britain - UPDATE 11th March 2023
I've just completed stage five of my 4500-mile coastal walk of Great Britain to raise funds for two charities: RNLI, and Help Musicians UK. A donation to one or both charities would be wonderful, thank you! (please click on the links above).
I started in Southwold, Suffolk and on the 5th March 2023 after 1123 miles, I have arrived into Inverness, Scotland. Regular updates appear over on the Clive's Coastal Walk of Great Britain page. |
